RISE Scholars

Reaching Impact through Student Excellence

What is RISE Scholars?
RISE Scholars is a 5-year college prep and job placement scholarship for Pell-eligible seniors ready to commit to a degree program at Arizona State University in a STEM major.  Pell-eligible students qualify for four years paid tuition and fees at ASU and College Bound AZ serves as the bridge to ensure the transition to college is successful and students receive scholarships to finance their education.  Every class supported creates a cohort we can track to and through college and into the workforce.

The STEM degrees include: Engineering, Business, Technology, Education and Health Services majors.

What do RISE Scholars do?
RISE Scholars join the program through a 3-day summer camp between their junior and senior year held on the ASU Polytech campus.  They participate their senior year in eight 45 minute workshops and two one-on-one sessions at their high school, the East Valley Institute of Technology which draws from 10 valley school districts, and Sequoia Charter School.  College Bound AZ's college counselor ensures enrollment at and transition to Arizona State University. Seniors also participate in the ASU Shadow Day over spring break to qualify for an additional ASU scholarship. Once in college, RISE Scholars participate in monthly check-ins and  annual professional development workshops to prepare for employment after college.  RISE Scholars are expected to perform community service as part of this scholarship.

What does RISE Scholars cost?
RISE Scholars is free.

What are the benefits of RISE Scholars?
