What is RISE Scholars?
RISE Scholars is a 5-year college prep and job placement scholarship for high school seniors who attend the East Valley Institute of Technology. Students make the commitment to continue their education at any accredited school. Pell-eligible students qualify for four years paid tuition and fees at ASU and free tuition at any community college.  College Bound AZ serves as the bridge to ensure the transition to college is successful for all students and that scholarships are available to finance a student's  education.  Every class supported creates a cohort we can track to and through college and into the workforce.

What do RISE Scholars do?
RISE Scholars join the program the fall of their senior year.  They participate in eight 45 minute workshops and monthly one-on-one sessions at while attending the East Valley Institute of Technology which draws from 11 valley school districts. College Bound AZ's college counselor ensures enrollment at and transition the college of choice. Seniors also participate in the ASU Shadow Day over spring break or tour Mesa Community College to familiarize themselves with a college environment. Once in college, RISE Scholars participate in monthly activities with their college club, including professional development workshops to prepare for employment after college.  RISE Scholars are expected to perform community service as part of this scholarship. 

 

What does RISE Scholars cost?
RISE Scholars is free.

What are the benefits of RISE Scholars?
RISE Scholars receive unique support while attending the East Valley Institute of Technology.  They receive one-on-one assistance to ensure a financed college education and college readiness classes that help prepare students for the transition college.  New laptop computers are gifted every year to selected RISE Scholars.  Students also receive ongoing support through their college club, along with professional development to prepare for a successful career. At the completion of college, RISE Scholars receive assistance with job placement.

Eligibility Requirements

 

  •   No minimum grade point average

  •   Acceptance at an accredited school

  •   Participation in ASU Shadow Day or      college tour

  •   Attend high school workshops
